Remember, the people who work here are biologists not computer jocks. 
Generally, they don't sit in front of the computer for a large part of
their day.

An analogy:  The computer to them is an appliance like a
coffee pot.  When they want a cup of coffee, they leave their desk and
go to the pot.  They don't stand in front of the pot all day until the
urge to have a cup strikes them."
